One-third of all the food produced is wasted. This is wasted due to a few reasons. It can be because the food is not as per the correct standard and does not leave the farm. It could be damaged on the way to the store or in the store and removed. The food could also reach its expiry date before being sold. Food is also wasted that comes in our house that we do not consume before it goes bad or alternatively if we prepared or ordered too much food and leave the remaining food on our plates that are then headed to a bin. Food waste is also the bits and pieces of food that we do not eat, like the skin of onions, potatoes, pumpkins or whatever you remove before eating that heads to a bin.
