046: How can the 17 Sustainable Development Goals create a more sustainable future for you and Mama Earth with Mariska Nell

SDG

In this episode, I am looking back at some goals that were set for Mama Earth and that is the Sustainable Development Goals we will also be looking at great organizations like the Goalkeepers that are bringing leaders from all around the world to accelerate progress toward ending poverty and fighting inequality.

Key Take Away

“The 17 sustainable development goals will help to end extreme poverty and build a better world by 2030. “

On the 25 of September 2015, 193 world leader adopted new global goals at the UN’s annual General Assembly. These 17 goals would each help to build a better future. Just like when we set our own goals whether for a year, a month or a specific project, it is important for us to set goals to end poverty, hunger, equality as well as all things related to Mama Earth to name a few. Without these goals, it becomes harder to measure our progress and also easier for us to not make any improvements if there are no goals to hold us accountable.

About the author, Mariska

Hi and welcome! My name is Mariska. I am originally from South Africa, but now call the world my home. I am an artist, designer, environmentalist, podcast host and speaker.

I started the Mama Earth Talk podcast in 2018 to share some of the things that I learned about just how easy it can be to reduce your impact on the environment. This then quickly grew into a forum that showcases the amazing things that many people are doing to make the planet better, and further into a source of hope and inspiration for many. A few of the amazing guests include Zero Waste Queen, Bea Johnson, Claude Silver, Kathryn Kellogg and zero waste chef Max La Manna.

If you do not already I urge you to follow me and my journey on social media (@designbymariska), and to refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle and rot your own waste using the handy tips I post!
